Why Do We Use Essential Oils?

 Essential Oils are the basic tools of aromatheropy. The oils which are extracted from plants can be used to treat all systems of the body, disturbances of the mind and imbalances of the emotions?

How Do The Oils Work? 

Essential Oils enter the body by inhilation and through absorption through the pours of the skin.

 

The Essential Oils I Use. 

Lavender (Lavandula Argustifolia).

 Found in all my product ranges. Lavender is the best known of all Essential Oils.

Calming and Soothing, Lavender is a good anti-depresent and is good for emotional balancing, which lowers blood pressure

Lavender is an aptogen, meaning it has the ability to restore balance & initiate healing in any body system that is out of balance.

 Tea Tree (Melaleuca Altenifolia).

 Primarily an anti-infection oil, it can be use to treat dandruff, it has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.

 Tea Tree has natural cleansing and deodorising properties. It also helps stop the spread infection as i stimulates the immune system,

Tea Tree is a good essential oil for skin problems, athlete's foot, rashes, insect bites. It helps to heal cuts and infected wounds and is effective against dandruff.

 Lemon (Citrus Limon).

 Lemon is more commonly regarded as a nutritious froot rather than a healing agent.

The most important property of lemon is its ability to stimulate the body's defences to fight infection.

Lemon is a astringent, diuretic & laxative. It also has the ability to arrest minor bleeding and may also lower blood pressure, Relieve rheumatism and helps clear greasy skin & acne.

Lemon can be used as a mild skin bleach for freckles and it also makes an effective insect repellant.

Beware Lemon can irritate sensitive skin

Peppermint (Mentha Piperita). 

 Peppermint is best known as a remedy for digestive problems, it is also used as a humane form of pest control.

Peppermint is refreshing & stimulating, it tones & settles the digestive system, it relieves flatulance reduces spasms.  Its aslo a valuable expectorant, a painkiller, antiseptic and can be used to relieve itching. Peppermint also premotes clarity of thought.

Peppermint should not be used during pregnancy, it may sensitize or irritate the skin in some people.

Ylang Ylang (Cananga Odorata Var. Genuina).

  Ylang Ylang means flower of flowers and is widely regarded as "Euphoric", it is also attributed with aphrodisiac properties.

 It is an antiseptic & inhibits the spread of infection, it slows a rapid heart beat & breathing & can help lower blood pressure. 

 Ylang Ylang is good for skin complaints, especially oily or irritated skin & acne as well as bites & stings. It can be used as a scalp tonic to premote hair growth & balance sebum production in both dry and greasy scalps. Depression, stress, anxiety & tension can also be alleviated by Ylang Ylang

Can cause nausea and headaches when used in high concentrations.
